New Research Opportunities in Sydney - PAIN RESEARCH: Expressions of Interest are invited for potential group leaders working in basic research areas related to mechanisms of pain and development of novel pain therapies, to join the team at the Pain Management Research Institute (PMRI), a division of the Kolling Institute of Medical Research, University of Sydney at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia. Potential group leaders with related interests in nerve injury, neuroinflammation, spinal cord, sensory physiology, neuropharmacology, neuronal plasticity and psychology of pain are also encouraged to apply. The PMRI conducts basic and clinical research programs and operates a national and international educational program. PMRI is supported, in part, by a community based Foundation, PMRI Ltd. During 2008, we relocated to the new 10-storey Research and Education Building on the Royal North Shore Hospital campus, St Leonards, Sydney. This provides excellent opportunities for high-quality laboratory space, collaborations with other research groups on campus and affiliated institutions, including strong links with translational research and access to many core service facilities. The campus also has a vibrant postgraduate student association (www.ncs.usyd.edu.au/press). Please submit your CV and a cover letter summarising your research interests and experience to mjcous@med.usyd.edu.au. Professor Michael J. Cousins MD DSc, Professor & Director of PMRI A/Prof Janet Keast, Director of Basic Research, PMRI Date entered - 22nd May 2009
